Origin Fintech

At Origin Fintech, we know that there’s no single “big thing” that defines a thriving workplace. Instead, it’s the consistent layering of small, curated actions that creates an environment where employees feel connected, supported, and empowered.

Remote work is one of the most valued benefits at Origin and we embrace it fully.

However, it brings its own set of challenges for engagement and well-being.

To address this, we’ve built a culture focused on a sense of team cohesion and community, intentional communication, and shared learning.

Our employee experience (EX) efforts span formal initiatives, organic moments, and the flexibility to work in ways that make sense for individuals and teams.

Key Initiatives That Shape Our Culture:

● Culture fit first: It starts with a strong foundation—hiring the right people through robust recruitment practices and introducing them to our culture through an engaging onboarding experience.

● Flexibility and Outcomes-Based Work: Autonomy is key at Origin. With high flexibility, employees can self-organise and prioritise getting-it-done over hours logged—a culture where “AFK” (away from keyboard) means “gone surfing” or “Milk-run” and work gets done.

● Prioritising Growth: A key focus is allowing employees to take on new challenges and rise to the occasion. The landscape of a startup is constantly changing and offers ample opportunities for expanding individual skill sets—just jump in! From learning programs and global certifications to informal initiatives like our Learnovation Lounge—a space for in-house training and collaborative learning—growth is a given.

● Structured and Unstructured Connections: Some sharing opportunities allow the flow of information and change management, such as Townhall sessions, while others are about the individual’s interest—such as Show & Tell where we might discuss the aerodynamics of F1 cars or epigenetics. We prioritise spaces for dialogue and connection.

● Social Events and Micro-Gatherings: Sometimes we just have fun as well. Whether it’s an online gaming event or a virtual roast of the CEO, investing time to laugh and plot together with a silly background online is key in boosting team cohesion.

Ultimately, well-being and engagement at Origin are about building a community where people feel connected, supported, and inspired.

By blending structured opportunities with organic interactions, we create a workplace that thrives on shared values, collaboration, and innovation.
